How to Resolve IP Restricted Error and Grant Access to Our App

We understand that you’ve encountered an “IP Restricted” error while trying to authenticate into our app using your Salesforce account. This occurs because your Salesforce profile has specific IP address restrictions. Here’s how you can resolve this issue:

Why Does This Happen?

Salesforce profiles can be configured to only allow login from specific IP addresses. If your account’s profile has IP restrictions, and our server IP is not on the approved list, Salesforce will block the authentication attempt, resulting in the “IP Restricted” error.

How to Fix This:

To use our app, you have two options:

  1. Add our server’s IP address to your Salesforce profile’s Login IP Ranges.
  2. Use a different Salesforce account with no IP restrictions.

If you’re an administrator, you can follow these steps to add our IP address to your profile’s allowed range.

Steps to Add Our IP Address to Salesforce Profile’s Login IP Ranges

  1. Login to Salesforce:
    • Go to Salesforce and log in with your administrator account.
  2. Navigate to Setup:
    • Once logged in, click on your profile icon (top right corner) and select Setup.
  3. Find Your Profile:
    • In the Setup menu, type Profiles in the Quick Find box on the left.
    • Select Profiles from the search results.
  4. Select the Profile You’re Using:
    • In the list of profiles, find and click the profile associated with the account you’re trying to use.
  5. Go to the Login IP Ranges:
    • Scroll down to the Login IP Ranges section on the profile page.Click Edit to modify the IP ranges.
  6. Add Our IP Address:
    • In the Login IP Ranges section, add our IP address in the appropriate fields:
      • Start IP Address: Enter our IP address in the “Start IP Address” field.End IP Address: You can leave this blank if it’s just one IP address.
After adding the IP, click Save to update the settings.
  7. Try Logging In Again:
    • Once the IP address is added, try logging into our app again with your Salesforce account. You should now be able to authenticate without encountering the “IP Restricted” error.
